Image: 1/6 plate; Seated man and woman holding hands, man with a bald pate and hair around the ears, dressed in a dark jacket, pants, vest and tie, with a white shirt, collar turned up, and woman with hair parted in the center and wearing a bonnet, and a mid-tone colored dress with long sleeves and gathers at the waist, with a small upright white collar. Preserver: Straight and embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Nonpariel with sandy finish (1840s). Case: Paper-covered wood-frame embossed with a bird and vine design both front and back, with a red velvet pinchpad and a red velvet cushion embossed with a geometric design ().
