Image: 1/16 plate; Head and shoulders of a boy with hair parted on one side, wearing a dark roundabout with shiny buttons and a white turned down collar, color applied to his cheeks and mouth. Preserver: Straight, narrow, embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Double elliptical with matte surface (mid 1840s - mid 1850s). Case: Leather-covered wood-frame embossed with a floral design both front and back, with a gilded edge trim both exterior and interior, with a red velvet pinchpad and a red velvet cushion embossed with a geometric design (ca. 1850).
