Image: 1/6 plate; Seated woman with arm resting on cloth-covered posing table, hair parted in the center and covering the ears with shoulder-length ringlets, a tortoise comb tucked in the crown, wearing a pattern-printed dress with long sleeves with whitework undersleeves, with shirred gathers at the waist, holding a nosegay in the hand resting on her lap.
Preserver: [none] (pre-1847).
Mat: Scallop with pebble finish (late 1840s-1851).
Case: Leather-covered wood frame half case embossed with the Mixed Flowers, Variant design [Plate 137 on page 124 of "American Miniature Case Art" by Floyd and Marion Rinhart (Cranbury, New Jersey: A. S. Barnes and Co., Inc., 1969)] on the back, with interior gilded edge trim, and a red velvet pinchpad (ca. 1857).
