Image: 1/6 plate; Woman with hair parted in the center and covering the ears, wearing a long sleeved dark dress fastened up the front, with a wide flat collar that does not meet at the front, with a brooch clasped at her throat, color applied to her cheeks and lips. Preserver: Straight and embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Oval with matte finish and simple embossed design (1850). Case: Leather covered wood frame half case embossed with a geometric design on the back, and a red velvet pinchpad (1850s).

(ink on paper): Ambrotype of Mrs / A. Elizth [sic] McGuckin's / maiden name Seaman first / Husband's name Jas. Cummings / was taken Oct. 28th 1856 / was born Oct 5th 1805 / is now 51 years age (Note behind image package)
