Image Description:
Image: 1/6 plate; Seated woman with arm resting on posing table, hair parted in the center and smoothed down over the head behind the ears, wearing a long sleeved dress and fringed wrap made of a matching striped fabric, with a striped neck ribbon, white undersleeves, and gilded earrings, rings and brooch, color applied to the neck ribbon. Preserver: [none]. Mat: Octagonal with pebble finish (1839-mid 40s). Case: Leather covered wood frame embossed with a floral design on the front only, with a plum purple pinchpad, and a plum purple cushion embossed with the photographer's studio name and address (ca. 1848).
