Front and verso of a cartoon satirizing the campaign for Irish independence.

In a kitchen, a pot is over-boiling on the stove and a dish is broken on the floor.  An Irish woman, depicted in a manner which reflects the ethnic stereotypes and prejudices of the era, stands with her left hand on her hip and her right hand clenched in a fist.  The slender woman beside her outstretches her arms, and pleads with the Irish woman to finish her chores.
