Draft of letter from Morris Milgram to Martin Luther King, Jr., August 20, 1963.  The letter includes discussion of the Deerfield Freedom of Residence battle, as well as praise for Dr. King's famed letter from a Birmingham jail.  Deerfield, Illinois was the site of a battle over racial integration in residential housing, as community leaders and residents challenged plans for a housing development open to African-Americans.
