Kennedy Boulevard awaiting a glimpse of Father Divine during his visit on September 3, 1939 to the ‘City of Brotherly Love.’  Father Divine’s trip to Philadelphia included visiting multiple sites across the city, providing fifteen lectures at places such as Phillies Ball Park, Baker Bowl, and The Music Fund Hall, interviewing with City Officials, and serving ten Holy Communion Banquets.  Father Divine, also known as Reverend M. J. Divine, was a spiritual leader who founded the International Peace Mission movement.
