Biography:

Lithographers Jacob Ottman, Vincent Mayer, and August Merkel established the firm Mayer, Merkel & Ottman in 1874 in New York City.  In 1879 they relocated from 22-24 Church Street to 21-25 Warren Street.  Mayer, Merkel & Ottman were the lithographers for Puck, the first American humor magazine to feature weekly color illustrations.
