Biography:
Noted political reformist and activist, founder of the Indian Rights Association, editor and publicist, and advocate for the conservation of the forests of Lake Sunapee. Welsh studied art in Philadelphia, law at Washington & Lee. He was also a founder of Indian Rights Association, an opponent of Pennsylvania ’boss rule,’ and President of the Fellowship of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
