Biography:

Born in Erie, PA, Beckman served as Secretary of the Pennsylvania State Banking Department from 1938 to 1940. On Sept. 28, 1924, he was appointed third deputy secretary in the Pennsylvania State Banking Department, but left the Department to become Controller of Bankers Trust Company of Philadelphia in 1929. He also acted as Bankers Trust's Secretary of the Board; returned to Department of Banking in May 1931 to assist with bank liquidations, specifically Bankers Trust; close associate of Albert M. Greenfield
