Biography:

The International Typographical Union, Local 2 was founded in 1850 as the Journeymen Printer's Union of Philadelphia. It joined unions from surrounding states to create a national union in 1862, and was renamed the Philadelphia Typographical Union No. 2. In 1987, a merger with the International Typographical Union and the CWA resulted in the Printing, Publishing, and Media Workers Sector. The International Typographical Union Local 2 was changed to Local 14826 and then later 14199.
