Biography:

John C. Bell, Jr. was the Pennsylvania Secretary of Banking from 1939 until 1942 and Lieutenant Governor from 1942 to 1947. Bell was appointed as a judge to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 1950 and became its Chief Justice in 1961. He retired from the Court in 1972.
