Biography:

The United States Gazette was a daily newspaper (except Sunday)  published in Philadelphia from 1823-1847. The paper underwent a series of ownership and editorship changes in the decades leading up to its merger with the North American, another prominent Philadelphia newspaper, to become, in 1847, the North American and United States Gazette.
