Biography:

Joseph Pulitzer was an influential newspaper publisher.  He was born on April 10, 1847 in Hungary and immigrated to the United States in 1864.  In 1868 he began writing for the Westliche Post.  In 1879 he created the St. Louis Post-Dispatch when he purchased and merged the St. Louis Dispatch and the Post.  He later purchased the New York World in 1883.  He died on October 29, 1911.
