Biography:

Professor of history at Northwestern University and noted scholar of the Far East. Served as personal advisor to General Douglas Macarthur during the occupation of Japan after World War II. Publisher of anti-communist pamphlet series, Democracy versus Communism for US Office of Armed Forces Information and Education (OAFIE).
