Image Description:
Photograph showing horse-drawn wagons used by Wanamaker's Department Store for delivering purchases to customers parked on Market Street.  The date of the photograph is uncertain.  The date printed on the bottom left-hand corner dates the photograph to September 25, 1907.  However, the image caption gives a date circa 1911 or 1912. 

From original image caption: "Before automobiles were used for delivering purchases, horse-drawn vehicles were the rule.  The Wanamaker stable was at 20th and Wharton Streets.  Here were housed an imposing array of wagons and trucks.  For the Philadelphia service alone, over 300 horses were required.

This picture shows the last of the horse-drawn vehicles parked on Market Street.  The circa is 1911 or 1912."
