World War I-era poster advertising an "Allied Ball," benefiting the British-American War Relief Fund. The ball took place on Wednesday, May 23, 1917 at Lu Lu Temple. Tickets cost $1, "including lady," or 50 cents of a "lady's ticket." The central image shows a well-dressed woman, seated and knitting.
