Image Description:
Book explaining and showcasing the works of the pendulograph. This drawing machine operates with two pendulums set to swing at the same revolution as a musical note, so that it can be "tuned" to musical intervals, as the author demonstrates. The pendulums are attached to moving arms, which hold a pen over a paper on a still desk. The arm's movements led by the pendulums swinging at different rates create the designs here.

The book contains 22 plates and manuscript additions explaining the science of musical revolutions, including four loose pendulograph drawings and four pendulographs inserted in the printed text. Also contains a printed handbill advertising the publication of The Pendulograph.
