A famous Philadelphia banker, Stephen Girard, stares in awe at a floating Spanish dollar in hopes that it will "chink" into the till.  A caricature of Girard, referred to here as "Stephen Graspall, Banker and Shaver."

An etching by William Charles, the most prolific American political cartoonist of his era.
