David Chambers Claypoole [circa 1757-1849] was a Patriot printer, whose newspaper, The Pennsylvania Packet and Daily Advertiser, was the first to print the Declaration of Independence. Claypoole had been apprenticed to printer Jon Dunlap, who founded The Packet in 1771. Claypole was Dunlap's partner until 1794, when he took over the operation and renamed the paper Claypoole's American Daily Advertiser.
