Commemorative print containing bust-length portraits, within a decorative border, of the original faculty of the first degree granting U.S. medical college for women that opened in 1850. Faculty includes William S. Mullen, President; N. R. Moseley, Prof. of Anatomy General, Special and Surgical; Jas. F. X. McCloskey, Prof. of the Institutes and Practice of Medicine; Jos. Longshore, Prof. of Obstetrics and Diseases of Women and Children; C. W. Gleason, Prof. of Physiology and Surgery; M. W. Dickeson, Prof. of Materia Medica and Therapeutics; and A. D. Chaloner, Prof. of Chemistry. Border designed as Gothic-style columns and arches decorated with female figures, including Wisdom and Peace. Also contains a vignette below the portraits depicting a classical style building with columns, possibly the building rented by the college at 229 Arch Street or an unexecuted rendering of the future permanent medical college building. Female Medical college was renamed Womens Medical College in 1867.
