Image Description:
American artist William Winner's Philadelphia Newsboy, circa 1865.  A young man is shown slouched on a crate.  his left hand is in his pocket and in his right hand he is holding copies of the North American newspaper.  He is dressed in high-waisted trousers, a white shirt, an over-sized coat, and a scarf.  The view shows the boy on his crate next to a curb with the street behind him.  There are several people coming and going on the sidewalk across the street behind the boy.
