Fountain Green in 1839. A Hotel or place of resort on the Columbia Rail Road opposite to Sweet Briar on the Schuylkill, Horse cars ran from 8th & Market, and Broad & Race out Willow Street, It was a part of Engel & Wolfe's farm afterwards, and was purchased of them for the Park.
