Mount Pleasant Hotel was situate in 1836 at the east end of the Columbia Rail Road Bridge about 300 feet distant and directly opposite to Log Lane where it is cut down through the bank between Rockland and Mount Pleasant Mansions, between the Railroad and the Schuylkill River, it was kept in 1841 by Mr. Del Baufre and was then a great resort for those who belonged to boat and barge clubs and merchants who would ride out Broad & Willow streets in the two story horse cars in the afternoons. It never was much frequented by ladies. Sketched in August 1841. III-58 b
