Image: 1/6 plate; Seated woman with braided hair wearing a patterned dress with lace collar, tie, holding a book, color applied to cheeks. Preserver: Straight, narrow, embossed with simple rope pattern (after 1850). Mat: Elliptical with pebbled finish (1839- mid 1840s). Case: Leather-covered wood-frame with embossed floral design (variation of scarce Berg No. 5-94 and 5-112), red velvet pinchpad, red velvet cushion embossed with floral design (1850).
