Image: 1/6 plate; Head and shoulders of a man in jacket, vest and tie with white collar, with color applied to his cheeks. Preserver: Straight, narrow, embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Nonpariel with sandy finish (1840s). Case: Paper-covered wood-frame with a very rare floral design (Berg No. 5-133, which might be by Myron Shew, dealer in Daguerreotype Materials, 116 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia) on both front and back, red velvet pinchpad, red velvet cushion embossed with geometric design (1850-60s).
