Image: 1/6 plate; Woman wearing daycap of sheer fabric, with frills at the cheeks, with a puffed crown with capstrings tied under the chin, and a dress of dark fabric gathered at the waist flaring upwards and to the shoulders, color applied to the face. Preserver: Straight, narrow, embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Oval with matte finish and simple embossed design (1850). Case: Paper-covered wood-frame embossed with floral design on front and geometric design on back with red velvet pinchpad, and a plain red velvet cushion (1850-60s).
