Image: 1/6 plate; Head and shoulders of a man in half-profile, with hair parted to one side and smoothed across the forehead, with a full beard and mustache, dressed in a dark jacket, with a lighter vest, and a white button-up shirt, with a high white collar and a horizontal tie. Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Oval with matte finish and simple embossed design (1850). Case: Book-style leather-covered wood-frame with simple lined embossing [Possibly by H. A. Eichmeyer, as similar to Plate 41 p.43 of "American Miniature Case Art" by Floyd and Marion Rinhart (Cranbury, New Jersey: A. S. Barnes and Co., Inc., 1969). A brief biographical sketch of H. A. Eichmeyer on p.195] , interior and exterior gilded lines, with ornate hinged clasp, purple velvet pinchpad and plain purple velvet cushion (1850).
