Image: 1/6 plate; Head and shoulders of a deceased elderly man lying down, in profile, with thinning hair, a beaked nose, dressed in a dark jacket and white collar, with a white necktie. Preserver: Straight and embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Oval with matte finish and simple embossed design (1850). Case: Leather-covered wood-frame embossed with a vase design both front and back, gilded edge trim on the interior, a red velvet pinchpad, and a plain eggplant colored velvet cushion (1850s).
