Image: 1/2 plate; Exterior of a stone church with a man standing on one side of the entrance, surrounded by a graveyard and fronted by a matching stone wall, two large trees to one side, and several buildings behind. Preserver: [none] (pre-1847). Mat: Oval with matte finish (ca.1850). Case: Leather-covered wood-frame embossed with a floral design on the front only, with gilded edge trim on the front exterior and both the front and back interior, with a red velvet pinchpad and a burgundy velvet cushion embossed with scroll work at the photographer's name and address (1850s).
