Image: 1/6 plate; Seated woman with arm resting on a cloth-covered posing table, hair parted in the center and pulled back from the face, wearing a dark dress with wide, long belled sleeves and flared undersleeves, an open neck with wide whitework collar, color applied to her cheeks, and gilding applied to her earrings, 2 rings, and a brooch. Preserver: Straight and embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Nonpariel with matte finish (mid 1840s to mid 1850s).
