Image: 1/9 plate; Seated child with hair parted in the center and smoothed behind the ears, wearing a short-sleeved pattern printed dress, holding a doll, color applied to her cheeks. Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Oval with matte finish and simple embossed design (1850). Case: Leather-covered wood-frame embossed with a geometric design both front and back, with a red velvet pinchpad, and a red velvet cushion embossed with a floral design (ca. 1850).Inscription:
