Image: 1/6 plate on dark red ruby glass; Preserver: Fancier with inward points at the corners (after 1858). Mat: Oval with matte finish and ornate (late 1850s). Case: Paper-covered wood frame embossed with a floral design both front and back, with gilded internal edge trim, a red velvet pinchpad, and a red velvet cushion embossed with the photographer's studio name and address (1850s).
