Image: 1/6 plate on purple ruby glass; Seated woman with arm resting on a cloth-covered posing table, wearing a white sheer daycap of the center-parted hair smoothed down over her head, a long-sleeved dress and sheer chemisette with a lighter shawl around her shoulders attached at the waist. Preserver: Fancier with inward points at the corners (after 1858). Mat: Oval with matte finish and ornate (late 1850s). Case: Leather-covered wood frame embossed with a geometric design both front and back, with a red fabric pinchpad and a red velvet cushion embossed with a scrollwork design (ca. 1850).Inscription:
