Image: 1/9 plate; Seated woman with arm resting on cloth covered posing table wearing a light colored short sleeved dress covered with whitework-edged bretelles with a corsage on her décolletage and another flower on her upper arm below the shoulder, with a dark fabric belt at the waist, and dark ribbons around her throat and both wrists, baubles and ribbons in her center parted hair, wearing large drop earrings and several gilded rings on her fingers, color applied to her hair ribbon and cheeks Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Nonpariel with matte finish (mid 1840s to mid 1850s). Case: Paper covered wood frame embossed with a floral design both front and back, with a red velvet pinchpad and a red velvet cushion embossed with a scrollwork design (1850-60s).Format:
