Image: 1/6 plate; Young girl seated on a fur covered posing chair, center hair gathered up in curls at the top of the head like a coxcomb, with side hair covering the ears, wearing a dark shoulder-baring dress with elbow-length sleeves, white undersleeves,and white stockings. Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Oval with matte finish and simple embossed design (1850). Case: Unmatched halves; paper-covered wood frame front half embossed with a geometric design, with interior gilded edge trim, and a tan velvet cushion embossed with a floral design; leather-covered wood frame back half embossed with a common "Eagle in Flight" motif (Berg No. 4-25), with a tan velvet pinchpad (ca.1850s).Inscription:
