Image: 1/9 plate; Boy seated on elaborate wooden posing chair, with hair parted on one side and covering the tops of the ears, wearing a dark roundabout with white cuffs, turned down white collar, and dark trousers. Preserver: Straight, narrow, embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Nonpariel with matte finish (mid 1840s to mid 1850s). Case: Leather covered wood frame embossed with a flower and urn design both front and back, with a red velvet pinchpad, and a red velvet cushion embossed with a flower and vase design (ca. 1850).
Inscription:
