Image: 1/6 plate; Seated girl with hair parted in the center and styled in ringlets, wearing a shoulder-baring short-sleeved spotted dress, with white stockings and laced shoes. Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Oval with matte finish and ornate (late 1850s). Case: Paper and leather covered wood frame embossed with a geometric and scrollwork design both front and back, with exterior and interior gilded edge trim, a red velvet pinchpad, and a red velvet cushion embossed with a floral design (1850s).
