Image: 1/4 plate; Woman seated beside a cloth covered posing table, wearing a dark long sleeved dress, dark leather gloves, and a sheer white day cap and pelerine. Preserver: [none] (pre-1847). Mat: Elliptical with mat finish (early 1850s). Case: Leather-covered wood frame embossed with a floral design on the front and a geometric design on the back, with a red velvet pinchpad, and an eggplant purple velvet cushion embossed with a scrollwork design (late 1840s).
Inscription:
