Photographs of Gertrude Chandler Sahlin, wife of Axel Sahlin and mother of Ellen Fritz Sahlin and Robert Chandler Sahlin. The first two portraits are from 1875 and 1880. The third shows Gertrude riding an elephant during a trip to India with her husband, Axel Sahlin, in 1911. Axel Sahlin was in India working on the construction of the Tata Iron and Steel Mill.
