Program of a charitable benefit arranged by the Banateana-V. Alecsandri Society to help distressed Romanian families in Austria-Hungary during World War I. The cultural and patriotic program of speeches, music, and dances took place at the Odd Fellows Hall, located on the northwest corner of Third and Brown Streets, the then meeting place of the society.

The first part of the program included an opening speech by Michael Marian (a later society president and founder of Philadelphia's first Romanian Orthodox parish, Descent of the Holy Spirit Romanian Orthodox Church), an address delivered by Romanian-American Uniate clergyman Eponmonidas Lucaciu, the playing of the Romanian patriotic hymn, "Desteaptate Romane" / "Awake o ye Romanian", an address delivered by John B. Mayer, a Philadelphia German-American active in local German-American affairs, and musical performances by a variety of local Romanian-American singers and dancers, including a performance of the Romanian national folkdance "Caluseriul" under the dance leader (vataf) Nicolae Nevrincean. The second part of the program featured Romanian, Serbian, and Hungarian dances.
